Sakura Season!

Hello everyone! My name is Kale and I am an English teacher. I moved to Japan from Australia two months ago. I am very excited to live in Japan. I want to write about my time living in Japan and share all the amazing foods, places, and people I see with you. I also want to show everyone what it is like living in another country. So, I hope you will join me on my fun and exciting adventure into Japan!

When I arrived in Japan, I wanted to see the sakura (cherry blossoms)! I had to wait for the flowers to bloom. sakura flowers only bloom for a short time, about one or two weeks, and the time they bloom changes every year. Finally, my friends and I went to Nagoya Castle and I saw sakura! The castle was surrounded by trees with beautiful pink flowers. One of my friends told me that peach trees also have pink flowers, but sakura flowers have five petals.

Nagoya Castle was amazing, it had big walls and pretty gardens. The castle was massive, I couldn’t see the top! Unfortunately, the castle was closed so we didn’t get to see inside, so we walked around the gardens instead. It is Springtime in Japan so many flowers were blooming. There was many different colours of flowers and trees, I really enjoyed walking in the garden. I want to visit Nagoya Castle again in the future!
